Christopher Columbus religion questioned?

    Hi,

    As I said in my post on this website, I'm reading much on the Ancient origins website and found this.

    It's an article where the religion of Columbus is questioned. The belife is that he was Marrano, or forced Jewish converts to Catholicism.

    It is likely to remain a question without a definitive answer. What has been cited as evidence of Columbus' Jewish background here and elsewhere is intriguing, but not dispositive.

    By the way, Marrano is a perjorative term, given that it means pig or swine. The preferred term would be converso.

    To the best of my knowledge, Christopher Columbus was not Jewish. Several attempts were made to trace his alleged Jewish origin and all came up with nothing. See below:
