When I heard the news of the overture of the gay marriage ban (prop 8) in California I was elated. To read the description of the reasons for the overture was exciting and right in line for why it should have been overturned. Honestly, peoples rights should never be put to a ballot in the first place. After reading the article on Yahoo news there were the "comment" boxes down at the bottom. There were some 40,000+ comments already posted! WOW!
Then I began reading the comments....... One after the other.... Supposed "Godly people" calling gay people names, using extremely obsecene langauage and quoting the bible with it. Me and another gay christian posted how we felt as gay citizens and as gay christians. The comments of hate and anger continued to spew forth from these people. After spending more than enough time on there I had to get up and do something else. It was very frustrating for me, to listen to nothing but twisted hate come from people who supposedly were "God-fearing" people... So, why is it that these people come from a place of fear, anger, and hatred?
There is no room for fear, anger, or hatred in God. The very essence of God is LOVE.
Prayer: Creator God, You have shown us love, an eternal love that has no bounds. May we follow your way and let your love shine through us. May your love abide in us, that others may see you. AMEN
