Since I was a small child I held a strong sense of God's presence in my life ! I felt a so called "calling to the ministry" this has been something I have questioned for nearly 30 years of my life ! I have never questioned my faith in God,however along lifes journey I still struggle with a faith put in religion !
Having been raised in a Catholic/Baptist home,a Stepfather being of the Mormon faith ,you can see where my christian belief system got its earliest foundations.
The same questions always arose for Me, it wasn't is there a God ! But can I believe in mans interpretation of Gods word? to believe in the koran must you believe Mohammed to be prophet? or Joseph Smith for the Book of Mormon? Why would the Bible be any more or less subject to the same scrutiny? Most religions play on a fear that if you are less than perfect in your life you somehow won't make it to heaven ,or worse some kind of eternal Damnation !
If God is a all knowing ,all loving Being ,then this is counterintuitive!
A current issue that has weighed on me heavily as of late is the question of Same sex Marriage.
Is Homosexuality a Choice or Something you are born with ?
instinct tells me: Most would not choose the persecution associated with homosexuality!
If you were born that way then God in fact Made it So! Would he do that if he was so against it?
I still do not and may never have the answer to this question in my lifes journey ! I do however take Comfort in this,
God will reveal these things to me if it is to be.
God will Make those Judgments,not I !
whether we believe it to Be right or wrong,God does want us to be loving,forgiving,and tolerant !
You can see my journey is full of seeking out the truths not pushing people away from God !
I gladly invite any respectful insight that you may have no matter what your personal Discipline or Faith !
