Prayer in our Public Schools

  • My brothers and sisters,

Do you remember when, as school children that we would start the day with a moment of silent prayer followed by the Pledge of Alliegence?  I personally didn't see anything wrong with it.  And as a society, we didn't have the problems that we do today without prayer in the school.  Athough I will admit that other factors are involved besides prayer in the schools.

Our country has gone too far from God and we need to bring ourselves back to his ways.  If the founding fathers ever saw what we did to the country, the would call and we want the country back.  Our courts have allowed this problem to go way too far to the left.  I think it is time that our courts begin to reconsider their previous decisions and bring it back inline with the intent of the founding fathers.  I believe that the first step for Congress and our President to promulgate a law to bring prayer back into the schools.  As this will be the first step to bring to country back to God.

Of course, the "wonderful" ACLU will fight any attempt to bring prayer back to our schools tooth and nail.  If a statute passed by Congress and signed by the President fails to pass the Supreme Court review.  Then I say that we convene a Constitutional Convention to amend the Constitution to allow prayer in school and to allow people to display their faith in school for a High School student was suspended for not removing his crucifix while in school.  The litigation is pending.  Every faith but the Christian faith is being allowed to display their religion, muslim girls wear a hijab but no one dares to say anything.

Please let me know what you think about this idea of proposing a law to bring prayer back into school.

    Peace be with you.

Doctor Swell Children and adults can silent pray anytime, anywhere they wish. There are not yet any mind police. I for one, do not understand why anyone would wish the public school system take on the job of maintaining our children's religious training. That must ...  more

Sojourner Robert Hess There is the psychological argument that a brief, habitual, period of Meditation or Prayer at the beginning of the day can help students to remain focused in classes. We already mandate what they must eat and have in snack machines for the sake of physica...  more

Doctor Swell If, Sojourner Robert Hess, you teach these techniques to your children at home, they can do it anytime, including school, without having to make it a part of the curriculum.
