Brothers and sisters,
I have been browsing through some of the bios of the other ministers here. I'm very curious about something.
Many of the ministers here appear to line up with the interfaith/no-faith policy that seems to me to be central to the core value of the ULC. It seems to me that being a minister within the ULC would require acceptance of that specific perspective.
Some, however, from the contents of their bio pages, appear to be simply non-denominational Christians. While i don't dispute the right of anyone to belong to the ULC, it's always been my understanding of Christian faiths that they believe that the only path to 'salvation' is though acceptance of Jesus Christ. Many of the minister's mission statements imply they do hold that belief and that their goal is to live a Bible-based life and bring people to Jesus. That's fine, of course, but then i must ask:
Why aren't you a member of an explicitly *Christian* organization? The ULC claims that there is more than one path to spiritual growth and that the Christian Bible is not to be accorded any unique status, and as such that's in direct opposition to the idea that there's only ONE way through Jesus? If your beliefs exhort you to encourage only the Christian view, then why are you doing so under the banner of an organization which explicitly challenges the unique correctness of the Christian faith?
