I had posted this to the wall here recently, but i realize i'm probably going to need to refer to it from time to time, so i'm preserving it here.
If you've never looked past your own beliefs, if you can't master the reasoning that motivates those with different beliefs, if you don't even know the historical derivation and academic scholarship behind your own beliefs - and for that matter, if you can't manage to form a coherent sentence and at least correctly spell the words that are integral to your own belief system - then why do you think that anyone who doesn't already share your narrowly focused and ill-informed world views will find anything you say to be of value?
