Some of you have seen this already, I decided it was time to post for everyone, as always, my words come from my heart.
America
America the beautiful
Sometimes I think not
The land, it was stolen
Through unfair battles fought
Its caretakers murdered
Their children and their wives
Changed their peaceful existence
Disrupted their lives
Then called them savages
How could they dare!
For protecting the land
They’d been given to care
The white man came in
Took more than their share
Leaving chaos behind
And forest land bare
Rivers and streams
Dried up in their stead
What was once plentiful
Now surely was dead
Still stories are told
Of honor and bravery
Reservations a sad state
Leading lives unsavory
But strong character and faith
Is hard to dissuade
When love, honor, sacrifice
Is your stock and trade
A humble people
To this very day
Who, for all they’ve been through
Don’t forget how to pray!
