An oblate in monasticism is a person who is specifically dedicated to spiritual service. “Oblate” is also used in the official name of some religious orders. Oblates individually affiliate themselves in prayer or meditation with a monastery of their choice. These make a formal private promise (annually renewable for life) to follow the rule of prayer and meditation in their private life as closely as their individual circumstances and prior commitments permit. More about the “Rule of Prayer” to follow. Thanks for following my blog, and thanks for visiting the Oblates of Universal Life Monastery on Facebook. Show your support and “Like” us there. +PAX+
