The Bible is an amazing source of wisdom and inner-peace if read and interpreted with the Divine Presence invoked. There are various portions of the Bible that I, and I'm sure many others, look at and say to ourselves, "Hmm... This doesn't sound like God. Sounds more like someone trying to scare us."
However, the Bible, the Quran, the Zohar, and the Talmud are not the end-all of teachings inspired by God. God didn't decide centuries ago that He, in His infinite wisdom and understanding, would simply stop sending people to guide us. I believe that we simply stopped listening. Sure, over the centuries we have learned wisdom from several individuals but none of which we constantly practice. Wisdom emparted to us since has become more of a way of reinforcing our intellectual ego instead of truly using this wisdom in our daily lives.
Today, we have the Dalai Lama which many people have finally began listening to. His wisdom is a breath of fresh air in a world stagnant of true spiritual leadership. Why have we let things come to this? Fear. Fear of listening to someone who has a broader concept of wisdom than one's self can be a powerful inhibitor. A fear instilled by many on the more extreme branches of Christianity is that all who do not share their "cookie cutter" idea of God and Christ are false prophets and will lead to damnation is also an extremely powerful tool of control.
In these trying times, I do not believe God has sent only one teacher, but an amazing host of them. I feel that this site is a "breeding ground" for great leaders and teachers in the modern world. I do not believe that something exists without a great purpose within it. This site has brought together ministers of all religions to share in our wisdom, collaborate ideas, and work together towards a brighter future without all of the dogma and "brainwashing" that is dominant in mainstream religious groups. I feel that we should come together and work harder to share this wisdom.
Here are a few suggestions on how we can:
1) A book that has excerpts from various ministers imparting wisdom. Any minister interested could write a section of anywhere from one to five pages which would then be reviewed by the other ministers. This book could have sections that focus on individual belief systems or could be all-encompassing without any direct mention of a specific religion.
2)An online radio station hosted by ministers that could be distributed via various online media outlets including the ULC main site and the Ministers Social Network. Similar to the book, it could have specific segments or sub-stations devoted to specific belief systems.
3)A newsletter written by an editorial group within the ULC with guest writing by ministers that wish to contribute.
