Healing

  • As this new year unfolds, are you seeing the changes you wanted to see?  Have you started those new things to make your life better, or doing those things that make you happy?  Many have a hard time changing to new habits, even with the best of intentions.

Part of that is because we fail to heal our hearts before moving one.  Forgiving past mistakes, letting go of guilt, dumping that which does not serve.  Its hard to look at all things objectively as we are emotional beings.  But for some, life is giving you a hand.  We look at the things that have been taken out of our lifes as loss.  But what we fail to remember, we can't get something new, until we give up the old.

In the morning before you get out of bed, think about your day.  The things you look forward to, the things you dread.  Now really look at both lists.  Do the things you look forward really bring you joy?  Or are they like old habits that make you feel safe, secure.   Some things we look forward to are just ingrained in us as its the way its supposed to be.  Not all of them are really good for us.   Like unhealthy habits.

Now look at the things you dread.  Why is that?  You can't blame your job for not being fullfilling enough, that part is up to you.  Meeting with a cranky relative?  Are you doing it to stave off guilt?  Or because you know they are lonely and need you.

We are our perceptions.  And when things we think we need are taken from us or when we let go,  think of the reason.  Look at what opens up instead.  Look forward to the new. Thank and say goodbye to the old.

Heal your heart, release all guilt, it is past things you can not change. If you feel you owe someone an apology, then do it soley for your benefit, its up to them to take it or not.  Release all past discressions.  Learn from them, but don't take the burden anymore.

I know many wonderful people on here that are carrying such a heavy load, most of which was given to them from another source.  Let that crap go!  Set it down, throw it in a canyon, release it to God.  But get rid of it.  Its not yours to bear.

You will find that after you let go of what does not serve your greatest good, filling that space with good things is really quite easy.   I am not sure why the letting go is so hard.
