I refuse to involve myself in this sort of thing online. I’m an ‘In-Your-Face; In-The-Streets’ Social and Political Activist; however, there are exceptions to any rule. This is one such rule.
For those who know about the larger incident upon which the premise for this essay is based, then you know more than I. For those who know nothing or very little regarding that same incident upon which this essay is written, you are much better off than I.
I will reiterate that I DO NOT KNOW THE BACK-STORY upon which the sentiments I will address are based, nor do I care. I do not care because of apathy, I do not care because it has not been made my business, nor have I -- at the time of this writing -- inquired about the back story. Again, because it is none of my business.
What I will address are what I perceive to be BLATANT RACIST SENTIMENTS. When I see openly expressed sentiments of hostility -- racial hostility -- THEN I make it my business.
I have been accused of siding with two individual's. This is not true. It is merely a convenient segue to attack one who is a relative newcomer refusing to join a lynch mob as I aggressively attack racism as I perceive it. The subsequent hostile, defensive remarks ... as well as current, and more than likely future and ongoing, hostilities ... directed to me as "one of the three" remains targeted. I find that my being targeted for confronting sad, but disturbing. I also find this to be a dangerous situation any time racists are actively involved in overt actions of this sort.
Of course it is difficult not to address such sentiments without acknowledging individuals who possess those sentiments; however, I WILL NOT OPENLY ACKNOWLEDGE ANY SINGLE INDIVIDUAL BY NAME. That would be offering those persons a gift of recognition beyond their merit. However, I feel they will avail themselves of this facility and reveal themselves eventually. Those of their ilk usually do in time. Stay tuned. ::chuckle::
RACISM
Late last evening, ‘Pop’ may have played "the race card" (as one person who messaged me characterized Pop’s comment). If Pop did, then that is his RIGHT. It is his ancestral prerogative, if you will. Pop is Black ... a fact that I became aware of only after reading his comment and thusly contextualizing it in appropriate perspective. (Note: Allow me to add that I did not know Pop nor Mom Nanhi. Rather, I knew them considerably less than the majority I’d met on this site thus far.)
Pop’s comment was a reflection of his heritage; a brutal, obscene, vulgar heritage that appears to be alive and thriving to this day. He referred to a past that did not directly involve him, as was made clear by his comment. Those of us who are not Black couldn’t possibly hope to understand – to fully understand -- his point-of-view, his perspective, his reasoning. I know I don’t. His personal understanding, his reasoning for what he said quickly became a non-issue, however.
As I said, Pop may have played the race card, but I don’t believe he did. What he said had no direct bearing on any current incident my limited perspective could identify. But what did you small group of racist gangbangers do? What did you Credentialed ministers do? Did you attempt to understand in what context Pop was speaking? Did you make ANY effort to show empathy, if not to appease Pop, but to put the larger issue to rest? No. You did not.
You pathetic, tiny, but extraordinarily vocal group of absurdly witless morons succeeded in validating his sentiment by your relentless assaults.
Unknowingly you gave credit to every last act of racial hostility this country meted out to millions of Blacks for over 300 years. You racist little boys and girls “of God”, are you proud of yourselves? You should be. You sounded quite certain about the topic of which you know little but addressed with bullish confidence.
If Pop didn't pull out ‘the race card’, you cretinous phuqtards rifled through the deck until one of you found it, and BAM! You pounced on it and you refused to let go. One after another, insult upon insult, supporting each other as only a little, impotent and powerless band of nasty hooligans could.
You sad few sicken me. Those who align themselves with your ilk sicken me. You all have allowed egoism to trample principal and what is just and right. The ULC should be appalled at what occurred. You know who you are. You know the types of people with whom you associate. There now appears to be only one “leader”, and she is taking full advantage of the mob mentality to which you’ve succumbed – and she’s not about to place herself on the line. That’s irrelevant because but you want to belong with the group, the clique who makes the most noise – regardless of the message OR the subsequent adverse affects.
You are bad for business. Anyone responsible for growing the ULC understands this. Online sniping is nothing new and is easily recognized, regardless of how carefully guised.
There are only six or seven of you, and I don’t know one of you. You certainly don’t know me. It’ll be easy to lose all of you as I log out for the last time or if this site closes. It’s safe to say that I will never meet you in real time, and even safer to say that I’m damned pleased I won’t. Racist garbage such as you interests me not in the least.
I won’t offer anyone Blessings right now. I don’t feel as though I can in a blessing, “in perfect love and perfect trust”. But I will say,
Hate is always fear based.
Try not to hate by recognizing your fear and acknowledging it; recognize your fear. Understand it and again ... try not to hate.
