Welcome to the ULC Minister's Network

REV. Jen Buman

mojo of a barefootbstreet minister

  • Most of us here don't look the part of a traditional minister, god knows I surely don't:-D . as long as I've been a minister I take great pride that I can minister anytime, anywhere and most to anyone who I'm lead to. I've ministered to homeless, drug addicts, even with other ministers on greyhound buses.

My post is to get a point a crossed. If we are to be ministers, it is our job to step and do what's necessary to get the job done. If we don't know the answer to a question, it isn't cool to say "I don't know" and simply walk away. I know as well as many others that we aren't perfect, however, this is a trying time we are in now and to be vindictive and self centered is simply and morally WRONG.

More than ever we need to bond together and unite people because there are so many lost people that need to be lead in the right direction even if its a little bit at a time. I chose to be a barefoot (yes really) street minister because there are so many people being turned away from church because they don't feel welcome, don't have home church or are just lost in the hype of what church used to be which was ultranreligious bible thumper types. I am not down for force fed religion.

I do know that when I speak to people I encounter I know just what I need to say and never once have I, not now not ever, force fed religion to anyone. I know a minister right know whose so cocky and into his cult style teaching and compound life, he can't steer anyone in the right direction and is forcing members of his church to take care of a few kids for a mentally disturb mom. He lied to a judge and said he would take the kids and was granted guardianship, yet refuses to take the kids home to his compound and won't even give the two people are taking care of these kids a break in any way. Its sad because these people came into his church a Lil over a year ago and they wanted to be members even. He has never offered them membership even even though they are avidly in attendance every Sunday and wensday. Truly a very sad and slightly disturbing situation.

I have been side counselling one of the people caring for those kids, its heartbreaking because she's exhausted an has told this pastor she needs help and a break and not getting anything more than ignored and about to walk away from religion again.

Pastors ministers parishioners bishops Jedi's whomever are made to look bad in this man and I'm simply angered about it. Any suggestions or comments are welcome... Thanks rev jen
