We ULC - members - have, in common, this: we believe that "We are all children of the same universe." I often pray - these words aren't mine, I honestly don't know their true origin - thusly: "God, may your healing light and love radiate out throughout the Universe, unto all: all of creation; for all those for whom We pray; especially, children."
What struck me, today, was the reference to "children". In the English language - unlike, for example, Latin - it's difficult to differentiate between "God's children", "our children", and "the children". Which gave me pause: when I prayed as above, was I being redundant?
I don't think so. Which brings me to the conclusion I reached earlier, today. As we are all God's children, it is my belief that it's our duty, to God, to care for, to love, to be kind to, one another. The realization I came to; that which struck me; was just exactly how all inclusive, how catholic, that statement of belief, is.
That having been said, I found myself having to question my own position - and the position of not only the "big C Catholic church", but of many other denominations, regarding a number of things, but, particularly, gay marriage. My point here is that, while some thing may not be my way, or fit in with my personal beliefs, that doesn't by any means, mean that thing isn't God's way, or in accordance with God's Laws. And, it occurred to me that my opinions on this matter, were, as they have been in many, and will very probably, if not certainly (unless God will's otherwise), most likely just that: my own personal opinion. That is, when asked, I've been giving my take on the matter, not God's.
I don't believe I've directly harmed anyone by my error to date. If I have, I apologize, and humbly ask for your forgiveness.
Yet again, this reinforced, for me, that I don't know everything; and, as I've oft heard others say, "the more I learn, the less I know".
I am, however, trying to learn what questions to ask.
May the grace and peace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all, always. And, may God's healing light and love radiate out throughout the Universe, unto all: all of creation; for all those for whom We pray; especially, the children. Blessed be God forever!
