As an (LEM) Lay Eucharistic Minister you are allowed to assist the Priest, and or Bishop with alters services if there is no deacon present. You may also be issued a three year licence which can be renewed or revoked by the diocesan Bishop. You are allowed to issue the last rights, baptism, and administer the eucharistic elements in emergency situations. You can be either single or married with in the Anglican Church, but if you divorce then you are not allowed to remarry unless you have finished the annulment process. You may remain a (LEM) as a single man/woman. You may not remarry and remain a Eucharistic Minister. You either leave your position or you meet the requirements, there is no room for play. You may chose to abandon you roll as a (LEM) and remarry, however you may only remarry with in the church or face excommunication. There are the do's and dont's for you to read, and know.
Adultery, Infidelity, Oath Breaking are three of among many things a Eucharistic minister can not be acquainted with. Both the RC and Anglican Churches know that, as both churches don't like scandalous Bishops, Priests, Deacons, and subdeacons causing ill news for their parishes and dioceses. Also as a minister in these churches, these things on top of marrying outside the church will get you excommunicated, sadly sometimes leading to never being forgiven until even after death. I do not think I will ever understand why some people insist on living this way. Stay strong in your faith, and do what must be done to be in good graces. Living a life of lies is no good. Seek confession and get counsel if this resonates with in you, that is my advice to all Anglican, and Catholic Ministers.
