Excellent question and in some theological circles a very emotional topic
As for myself, I do not believe that every soul hops from one life to another as some do. I do believe depending on ones interpretation of the scripture that there may have been those predestined to return to a different life to fulfill scripture, i.e. KJV Mat 17:10-13 And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.
One definition of the word incarnate is, "embodied in flesh, inhabiting a human form". One definition of reincarnate is " incarnate again, re-embody in flesh, provide a soul with another body".
In closing let me say, anyone seeking the One Truth should never take one old preacher's opinion as fact or many peoples opinion as fact. One seeking the One Truth needs to seek opinion, study the scriptures for themselves, pray about it, and allow the holy spirit to guide them to their personal enlightenment.

To be honest I've never really given it much thought. I've never looked into it or even prayed about it, so to respond from and informed point of view, this I could not honestly do.
