The significance of the date that Christ was crucified only becomes more apparent when we look at the next set of facts that accompany it.
KJV Gen 1:1 and 16 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lessor light to rule the night: [ he made] the stars also.
KJV Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these [things], that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that [he is] strong in power; not one faileth.
KJV Psalms 19:1-3 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge [There is] no speech nor language, [where] their voice is not heard.
Let me clear one thing up before going any further. I am not advocating Astrology here. Astrology deifies the celestial bodies, it suggest that the celestial bodies influence human affairs and determine the course of events. Astronomy is different, in that it is the study of celestial bodies and there movement, with no suggestion on human behavior, it does not deify the universe.
KJV Luke 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
So its okay to look for the signs in the sky, just remember this is nothing more than God's great clock placed there at the beginning of time by him.
NASA uses the mathematical formulas discovered by a man named Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) known as the Laws of Planetary Motion to compute where a specific planet or star will be several months from now, i.e. where Mars would be , so they could land their probe on it. Since it is now possible for anyone with a simple astrology program and a computer to see where the celestial bodies will be, it is also possible to see where they have been, even 2 thousand years ago over any location on the planet.
KJV Mat 27:45-46 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Phlegon Trallianus records in his history, Olympiades: " In the fourth year of the 202ND Olympiad [AD 32-33], a failure of the Sun took place greater than any previously known, and night came at the sixth hour of the day [noon], so that the stars actually appeared in the sky and a great earthquake took place.
Now turn the star maps back to April 3, 33AD, we find a full eclipse over Jerusalem, one had never been seen there before, we find an eclipsed full moon rising at the foot of the constellation Virgo [the virgin], an eclipsed moon appears blood red. These things were all foretold by the Prophet Isiah.
What does this mean? It means that this Creator, who placed the stars in the sky, this Alpha and Omega, knew when he placed them there, the very day that Jesus would be crucified, he had his prophets foretell of it hundreds of years before it happened and even recorded it in the sky at the creation. What power, what knowledge, this Creator must possess is unimaginable to us.
There is much more!
