From the mind of the innocent comes the wisdom of sages.
Simplicity of thought spoken over and over is a song for the ages.
It’s unfiltered, untouched, unmolested, or coached, by you or by me.
Listen to the children; they tell us the truth as it should be.
From the mouths of the youth flow the waters of reason.
From the depths of innocence comes the fruit of our season.
Flowering to flourish and remind us this tale of peace must be told.
Nurture this treasure called youth; protect it with body and soul.
He was only a boy that pleaded for peace in a world of war.
His chances were slim to succeed; though a smile he wore.
Now his smile is gone, faded forever into the dust.
His innocent smile wiped out by a violence so cruel and unjust.
Let not a life that was preciously priceless end up being in vain.
Never forget that the message he gave can help us sustain.
To hurt no more people; that was the wish that was made.
To live in a world where children were never afraid.~Jay Olson
