The basket is packed with chicken and slaw.
The brownies are wrapped in a tin.
The weatherman promised us sunshine today,
Now the rain will be keeping us in.
Spread out a cloth on the living room floor.
Play some music that reminds us of sun.
The picnic's been planned for a long time.
We'll have it inside—it still can be fun.
If by chance there's a break in the weather,
We can move it outside right away.
If the sky doesn't clear, then we'll have it right here.
A little rain cannot spoil our day.
So pack up the chicken and cole slaw.
Put the root beer and wine on some ice.
We're having a picnic come hell or high water.
