The autumnal rains fall.
It lightly taps my head of grey.
The sun hides blithely behind gathering clouds.
It hurries upon its destined way.
Daylight lingers ever so briefly.
It teases me, with promises of warmth.
Nighttime looms like a landlord.
Waiting, impatiently, for his rent.
Around the corner, winter lurks,
for autumn is nearly spent.
The days grow shorter, and soon,
winters will, shall conquer fall.
Leading us bravely, resolutely.
Taking us forward, one and all.~Jay Olson
