Giving is EASY!

Each year at Thanksgiving my Foundation makes an effort to feed those who are in need of a meal. My philosophy, after myself, husband and kids were homeless and hungry one Thanksgiving, was that no one should have to go hungry on the one day of the year when you are supposed to not only be fed...but to FEAST! I set out to make a difference in the lives of others in a small but significant way...feeding them! How could this get done? Easy. In addition to purchasing food for my own Thanksgiving dinner I purchased additional items to cook and distribute. I then used the wonderful world of social networking online and asked that people donate goods to be cooked and/or already prepared items to serve. I realized that if only 25 people committed to make 2 additional plates of food from their own meals (we throw away FAR MORE than that), then 50, yes FIFTY, people could eat a meal on Thanksgiving Day! Giving is the easiest thing that we can do for others...once we recognize that giving is easier than we think!
