Romans 1:20:
"For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse."
In preparing for this latest addition to my blog I ran into some trouble. I believed, in my own arrogance, that it would be a simple matter. I would quote some scriptures, explain a few things, and be done with it, but as I began to research, I found the depth to which this subject goes is awe inspiring. Everything in the Bible points to the Kingdom. Everything in the Bible is about it. I therefore had to come up with a different plan. Where was I suppose to start, and again I was told, "At the beginning." Well so I shall, and with the Creators help I pray that I do this subject justice.
It must first be understood that all things the Creator put on this earth, in a manner of speaking, are a representations of all things in heaven. This goes for Man, the animals, and the laws which were given to him. Creation its self reveals who the Creator is and his purpose.
Romans 8:19 says,
"For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the son's of God."
So let us begin with the question who is the Creator?
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." Genesis 1:1.
There are eight different words in the Old Testament that are translated from Hebrew into the word God. The word used in the above scripture is Elohiym, pronounced el-o-heem. It is the plural word for elowahh, pronounced el-o-ah, which means Deity. The Hebrew word Elohiym, means, more than one. The word God, in the first verse, of the first chapter, of the first book, should read Gods. There was more than one.
John 1:1-3 states it even more clearly:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made."
According to this verse there were at least two Beings in the beginning. One was called God, the other the Word; who was also God. How can this be? Let me explain. My name is Lamonte Johnson; my father's name was James Johnson. We are two different people, but we are both Johnsons, both human beings. He is the father Johnson, and I am the son Johnson. We are a family. So it is with these two Beings. One is God. The other, the Word, is also God. These two Beings were a family. They were the family of God.
The term, Word, comes from the Greek word, Logos, which can be translated as, "Divine Expression".
It was this being called, the Word, which said:
"Let there be light." Genesis 1:3.
John 1:10 states:
"....and the world was made through Him....”
John 1:2:
"He, {the Word}, was in the beginning with God."
God and the Word existed side by side, before time and space, they are Eternal, and it was these two Eternal beings, who created the Universe, and all that is in it. The things which can be seen, and the things which cannot be seen, but it was, the Word, which spoke and brought the Universe into existence.
Do you understand when it says in Colossians 1:16:
"For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him."
We now know who they are. Two Eternal Beings living side by side. What is it They did? Create the universe, and all that is in it. So it is now time to ask, "What is the purpose of their creation and how does it, the creation, reveal them to us?
Let us start back at the beginning. Genesis 1:3-5 reads:
"Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light. And God saw the light that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day."
Genesis 1:16:
"Then God made two great lights: the greater to rule the day, and the lesser to rule the night. He made the stars also."
I must stop here to clarify something. The Bible interprets its own symbols. There is no need to guess what is meant by the symbols, the Bible clearly explains them. There were two lights created, one for day, the other night. This is clearly the sun and the moon. The sun being the greater to rule by day. The moon being the lesser to rule the night, but what does this mean for us?
Turn to John 1:4-5:
"In Him was life and the life was the light of men. And the light {which was life and the light of men}, shines in the darkness....”
Do you understand what is being said here? The light which shines in the darkness, or at night, the moon, is a representation of the Being the Word.
"Then Jehoshua spoke to them again saying, 'I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.'" John 8:12.
"I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness." John 12:46.
The light which shines at night, or in the darkness, is the moon, The Word says that He is the light which will lead men out of the darkness. The moon is a symbol of the Word. Who is this Word? He is God. He is also the one who became the Man known as Jehoshua.
John 1:14:
" And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth."
So we find that the Word, which is represented by the moon, became the Man Jehoshua, the Savior. He became the one to lead men out of Spiritual darkness.
In the beginning there were two eternal beings, one is called God, the other the Word. The Word through the action of speaking created the physical universe. This Word than became the one who was borne and walked among men, Jehoshua. He is the one which lights up the darkness. He is represented in nature by the moon. The Bible if studied will reveal the interpretation of all of its symbols. There is no need to guess.
Next we must understand what the sun represents; for it is the greater of the two lights.
Jehoshua stated in John 6:29: ".......This is the work of God that you believe in Him whom He sent."
" I have come down from Heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of the One who sent me." John6:38.
This other Being, the One who sent Him, He called his Father.
John 5:19:
"....'Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does , the Son does in like manner."
Jehoshua was sent by the other Being to become the man Jehoshua. He says he is subservient to this Being, sent here to do the will of the one He called Father, and He claimed to be His son, the son of God.
John5:30.
"I can of myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and my judgment is righteous, because I do not seek my own will but the will of the Father who sent Me."
There is a lot to understand in this verse. Jehoshua claims that the other Being is His Father, and that He does what the Father tells Him. He has placed this other being in higher stature. He is greater than Jehoshua, by His own admission. Therefore, we can conclude, if Jehoshua is the lesser light, the moon, than this other being is the greater light, the sun. The sun and the moon were created to show who the creators are, and the relationship they share. Working in harmony, as Father and Son. If only we could understand this and follow the example they set; there would not be so much family discord in the world today. The Sun and the Moon are the two lights which govern this world. Without them there would be no life. They represent, in this physical realm, the true givers of life. Jehoshua the son, and the Creator, his Father. They are a family.
There is one more question to be asked. On the day that these two lights were created there was another type of light created also, the stars. What does the good book have to say about these other lights we can see from heaven, what do they represent?
Revelation 1:20:
"The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches....."
Revelation 12:4-9
" His tail drew a third of stars of heaven and threw them to the Earth."
Dropping to verse 7:
"And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought."
Verse 9:
"So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old called the Devil....he was cast to Earth and his angel were cast out with him. “Revelation 12; 9
The tail which drew a third of the stars from heaven was that of a dragon, the dragon was the devil and the stars were his angels."
The story of Lucifer’s [Satan} fall from heaven can be found in Isaiah 14:12-15:
"How are you fallen from heaven, o Lucifer, son of the morning.....,"
verse 13:
"....for you have said in your heart: I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of god...."
verse 14:
".... I will be like the Most High...”
Satan, who was also an angel, fought the Creator. You can read more about this in Ezekiel 28:11-24. Satan was defeated and thrown to earth along with the angels who sided with Him. These angels are referred to as stars. The stars in the sky represent the angels. They were created by the God family and existed with them.
Remember Genesis 1:16? It says that two great lights were made and the stars. The Light which rules the day is the Creator or the Father, the moon is the Word, or the son Jehoshua, and the stars are the angels. Their very existence is for all to see. We simply need to look above us and see the signs that were placed there for this very purpose. The evidence of the Creators is the creation.
This is why man has no excuse!
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge." Psalms 19:1.
