LAND OF THE NOTHING'S FREE

  • BACK & FORTH we banter about jobs, unemployment and taxes.  So what would be wrong with a common sense approach to rebuild the economy?  Let's say that we DON'T RAISE TAXES FOR ANYONE.  To do so already stresses out those who are employed and likely supporting those who are not and if we raise taxes for companies they won't be able to HIRE anyone NEW.

So to get it ALL GOING FORWARD AGAIN how about if we give TAX INCENTIVES to companies who hire new employees and create JOBS.  For each person that a company HIRES & RETAINS for one year they get a tax refund per employee.  For each new employee that they hire & retain for the second year they get another tax refund.

Seems like a WIN-WIN way.  After all people that are employed DO PAY TAXES back into the system.  And the work they do actually allows companies to make a profit with the products and services they can offer if there are enough people working.

Duh? Anybody with me on this one?

    WATCHA THINK?!

Deleted Member Rev. Kubat, would you suggest perhaps that small businesses be offered a preliminary percentage of that incentive to equal 25 % of the salary and the balance once they have retained the employee?

Deleted Member The previous lowering of taxes did not go hand in hand with requiring a company to hire the unemployed. When Welfare to Work and TANF first started about 12 years ago companies would hire someone for 6 months to receive an incentive then lay them off 6 m...  more
