TEMPERATURES RISING & FALLING
Here we go again...temperatures were up to 70 degrees here in Philly PA on Friday and now they are down to the 20's less than 48 hours later. Roller coasters never were my favorite and neither were the see-saws in the playground. The first (RC) made me upchuck my lunch and the latter offered too much opportunity to strand someone in mid-air, a temptation for my older brother and for others who were taller than me...but an excellent tool for teaching sharing and fairness. WHICH BRINGS UP THE POINT...how does one teach and ASSURE fairness and justice?
There was a lot of unrest in the world today when I woke up. More than usual. People willing to risk their physical well-being and lives for a little peace and justice, willing to stand in an open square and sacrifice all they have to make everyone's lives a little better, to force out a tyrant who has been taking advantage of everyone else. BUT IN OUR HEARTS the question often remains, how did we allow this person to get to that position in the first place?
To a certain degree we are not able to control the political climate, much like rising and falling temperatures however we are able to do something about what we wear and about whether or not we are left out in the cold--shelter and clothing in a storm requires thinking and looking ahead with some foresight to make sure we aren't left unprepared. It means keeping your ear to the ground and not only WATCHING the trends but more importantly INFLUENCING them!
TODAY is a NEW DAY to reach out to others, find out what is disburbing them and work with them to keep the political climate from changing too drastically. Just like we DO have a certain amount of control over physical climate change we can do the same in our human social environment as well.
HERE'S TO PEACE.
