THE EAGLE, THE CAT & THE PIG
An EAGLE built her nest in the top branches of an old oak tree. In a hole at the middle lived a WILDCAT and at the roots an old PIG made a home for her piglets. They all got along very well in this tree apartment house until one day the CAT decided to make some trouble.
First the Cat went to the Eagle privately and whispered, “ I don’t like to say nasty things about others but that pig down there is destroying the roots of this tree so she can bring the whole thing crashing down and feed our babies to the piglets. Mother Eagle became so fearful that she was afraid to leave her babies to go out and get food for them.
Having succeeded with the Eagle the Cat now went to Mama Pig and said “ Look old lady…I hope you don’t plan to go anywhere today because I heard the Eagle say she is going to treat her children to some nice fat little piglet the first time you step foot outside your door. Mama Pig was also afraid and decided not to budge an inch. Eventually the poor Eagle and Pig became so fearful of one another that their babies starved. Then the Cat completed her mission and fed the Eagle and Pig families to her own youngsters.
THE POINT OF THIS TALE: Never pay attention to lying, busy-body gossips.
