I have lost a mother

I have lost a twin sister
I have lost a son
I have lost a daughter
I have lost my home, twice ...
I watched my husband lose his sight
I have stood as a Social Worker in courtrooms, in the streets, in alleys and on buses and trains, trying to help suffering people put their lives together after tragedy or unfairness struck and hit them hard...
and all it takes is just one insensitive idiot to come along and take away the last bit of determination and self-respect and sanity they had left to cope with ...
BE CAREFUL...
you never know what someone is going through
you never know when you will be standing where they now stand
