Well, we said we weren’t going to stop at 25 ordinances and we weren’t kidding.
We congratulate Susquehanna Township in Dauphin County for claiming #26. Their bipartisan vote last night to prohibit discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations based on sexual orientation and gender identity and expression marks them as a community that truly cares about ALL its citizens. Equality PA applauds their vote and this victory and deeply thanks the Susquehanna Township Board of Commissioners and local activists for working closely with us on this important issue.
Equality PA remains committed to passing a statewide non-discrimination law through the General Assembly. And if getting us there can only be accomplished by passing ordinances one municipality at a time, then count us in.
Congratulations Susquehanna Township!
More equality is on the way.
