A legitimate question

  • I don't watch the news much, as it is so full of BAD news, and so little good, but I do love to browse Youtube. I came across a video the other day by a young lady named Amanda Todd. I watched this video and my heart went out to her. It really opened my eyes wider, to how the people in this world have changed, especially our children. This young girl made mistakes, and made wrong choices, as we all do. I further looked into her story, and was shocked at the teens that made this poor girls life a real living hell, so to speak. She tried to reach out through her video, which I will post a link to, but no one listened. Instead, she got called names, was beaten up, had terrible pictures of her posted all over the internet... the list goes on. What has happened to compassion, forgiveness, understanding? My heart is so heavy over this. The girl eventually commited suicide. I know many would say there is no forgiveness for her, but I just can not agree with that. This poor child was tortured and no one listened. She called out in a video, and still no one listened. We as adults need to listen and teach our children the lessons we learned as a child. Love, compassion, forgiveness, empathy. Please be with me and pray for this poor girl's spirit. I hope she has found peace. Love and blessings are with you Amanda Todd.   .

Rev. Bear Jones I came very close to suicide in my teens because of bullying and my Dad's solution was to fight one of them and hurt him badly enough for the others to stay clear. That was how he grew up, but it was never my style.

Priestess Marie Murray It's terrible that it takes children standing up for themselves, and fighting back, to get a problem taken care of. I was given the same advice when I was growing up, to just catch them one by one and beat the fool out of them. As you say Rev. Bear, that ...  more

Rev. Bear Jones It went too far. I used a 2 x 4 and left the other kid crippled. It nearly destroyed me. I avoided juvenile incarceration only because I was outnumbered and one of the others had brought a weapon also.
