Who was man that he would dare to raise his gaze to stars and stare;
To question how, or when, or why, or who had fixed them in the sky?
When did man first stop to ponder what made time to pass as yonder
Setting Sun, in splendor, did inspire him to render thoughts in endless song?
Where did man first come together collectively to discuss whether
Word and deed or thought and action should be labeled right or wrong?
How did man first come to reason that the tilting axis changed the season;
Or that the mystery of life's solution was in vast and varied evolution?
Who was man that he should think to, one day, break his earthly link
And take to flight, like bird on high, or even to the Moon to fly?
Why cannot man understand that these achievements, although grand,
Are but one day in life's great lesson; God is our teacher and class is in session! .
