Sometimes I think that is what most Christians, ministers, and priests do, just say anything that comes into their heads. Usually that entails quoting the biblical scripture, which entails the listener to have serious faith. Think of it as a horse race. The Bible, an hour before post time, that would be when it was written, had great odds. For all intents and purposes, no other horse could beat it. For the next hour man has been translating, rewriting, interpreting and reinterpreting, and, at the last minute, finding new information that might place this horse on the next glue wagon out of town. The odds have disappeared faster than steak at a soup kitchen. Even the faithful would have to ask, "Why?"
