"Would Jesus wear a rolex on his television show"

  • An old Ray Stevens song basically poking fun at televangelists. I believe that there is a lot of truth to it though. More and more TV ministers are coming on the air and making tons of money. Some are just preaching the bible while others are also performing faith healings. It's the faith healers that I have the biggest problem with. I don't believe in faith healers, I personally believe they are all charletans and blasphemers. I cannot belive that God goes around and gives healing powers away like they give away calendars at businesses. These people end up making a lot of money to slap people on the forehead and proclaim them healed. According to the bible Jesus had only to touch someone and they were healed. In one instance a woman was healed just by touching his garment, and he never made money by doing this.

Although I don't believe in "faith healers" I do believe that faith can heal. This type of healing is coming from within the person being healed, it is their faith that allows this, not being slapped in the head by some crook. Again this is my personal opinion, others may think differently and I can respect that, even if I don't agree with it.

    Tell me what you think.

Father George Marlow Oh believe me Jeff I do extend it to all of them it's just that the faith healers really frost my cookies. To me they are not only crooks but they are mocking Jesus by claiming to have his power.

Of course if the apostles were on the air I would ho...  more
