Tribute to Pastor John Villalobos

  • A tribute to my uncle and pastor John Villalobos, who passed away April 3, 2017

As we mourn and celebrate the life of my uncle and pastor John Villalobos here on the San Pasqual reservation Our family and his friends recognize his accomplishments during his time here on earth. My uncle and pastor John was recognized as a spiritual leader here on the San Pasqual Indian reservation who dedicated his life and preaching the word of God at his church. One of the first Church's here on the San Pasqual reservation, and he also dedicated his love and kindness and guidance to our native and non-native youth that lived here on the San Pasqual Indian reservation. He also made numerous trips to other reservations throughout the United States to preach the word of God and take donations that were needed to the poor families of the reservations. So yes, he loved, he cared and he nurtured my uncle and pastor John loves so many and was loved by all. We will all miss my uncle and pastor John so very much and we all know that our native warrior and spiritual leader is now home rejoicing with our Lord God and his brothers and the rest of the family that have passed throughout the years, but he will always live in our hearts until we join him in heaven.

So please send your condolences to Julie Villalobos, his wife. His son Isaac, his daughters, Lorraine, Natalie and his stepson Johnny and his grandkids and most of all my grandmother Amelia , the mother of uncle and pastor John Villalobos and to his sister's Mary, Josie and Della Villalobos and to his nieces and nephews and to the rest of his family.

I love you uncle John and I will miss you so very much. So here is a poem below called the final flight.

By Father Shaun Villalobos Nephew of Pastor John

    The Final Flight
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard his call,
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work, to play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
    A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My Life's been full, I savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one' touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free

Mystic Angel What a beautiful tribute to your Uncle. May the Angels guide him safely to the summerlands, and bring peace to the loved ones left behind.
