Cherubim/Cherubs
I. BIBLE***
Genesis: Cherubs were placed on the eastern side of the Garden of Eden to guard the Tree of Life with a flaming sword.
Numbers 7:89: Two Cherubs sit atop the Ark of the Covenant.
Ezekeil: 1 & 10: Each Cherubim had four faces; the first was the face of a bull, the second that of a human, the third that of a lion, and the fouth that of an eagle. Each moves straight ahead- where ever the spirit would go, they would go. Their structure was like a wheel within a wheel. Over their heads was something like a dome, glittering terrifyingly like ice crystals.
Revelations 4:5-8: And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come.
II. OTHER***
1Enoch: states that the arcangel Gabriel was set above the Cherubim.
3Enoch: He hurries them along to do the will of their Creator every moment.
Zohar: states that the leader of the Cherubim was a Cherub named Kerubiel.
