Why do some feel obligated to go to their worship on Sunday (or whatever day it is they worship) but ignore their religion the rest of the time? What is the point? The feeling I get from loving the Lord, is not something I would want just once a week. I can only imagine it is the same for other religions. The forest is only important to me during the Summer solstice, or I only pull out the prayer mat when I know someone can see me. I don't worship to make you happy. I worship to make me happy. It fills a void. I want people to know how I feel.
Don't act like it is 'work'. I had a job, that was my dream job. It helped that about half the people there, I also went to church with. But it didn't feel like work, because I enjoyed it so much. If your worship feels like 'work, or a 'job', then you're doing it wrong. Or you are not in the right place. I see many people on here that left one church, or another, becuase it cahnged. they did not like the change. They left, because it was no longer right for them.
I tried many churches, to find my place. I want to give examples of why some places were not for me, but I'm not here to bash other religions/denominations. Lets just suffice it to say that some places rely to heavily on "membership" requirements, for my taste.
I really like ULC for its learning aspects. I like what I think is a Berean attitude.
