How often do we go looking for meaning, and logic, but miss the best line ever used or read.
When we look into our scriptures and texts looking for a phase or passage to shed some light life, I often have to stop and think have i missed it. maybe i should go back and read again, but still not finding the thing i'm looking for. The question to pose here is why, and how. In a quick world maybe i'm going to fast and need to slow down, and read word for word to get that meaning. just like times when ou do the shopping in a rush, you forget all the important things that you need, and bring home beer and chocolates, even though it was some use just not what you were after. Do we rush though scriptures and only end up with beer and chocolates, instead of the fruit and veges. Or was it more ...
The next point is did we understand what we read?
I keep thinking of the movie Saving Private Ryan, one of the best quotes in that movie, can be quite quickly missed due to one reason, like most English speakers we hardly have more than two other languages that we speak, and German misses out in most cases, and one of the best quotes in the movie and most poetic is only spoken in German, and no subtitles either.
So Do we miss what we are looking for because we dont understand, or are we in a rush to look. What do you see yourself doing? And to top it off when we see it, was it worth it, I'ld bet it is.
