One of the most interesting conversations, I recently had about God, is how creative God displays visual communication. From the intricate pointed ears of a straight haired black cat, to the detailed white, black, and fuchsia color contrast in a tulip leaf, time and again, God reveals existence to all living beings. Sadly, many humans are not interested in discussing God, because they lack clarity on such an existence. In fact, many refuse to research religious doctrine and the history of any given religion they study, because quite often, such persons’ believe doing so is a waste of time. As a result, we learn that much of society suffers; mainly because, religion is smog smothering us with bias condemnation; instead of, empowering and embracing us as God uniquely designed us.
Luckily, we’ve have been given a long time historical treasure that reigns supreme in more than one-hundred countries: the Bible. What amazes me about this book is its endless ability to impact people hearts and minds, no matter what human race, educational background and/or financial level. After all, the Bible is intoxicating; the knowledge enveloped within this leather bound, silk worm papyrus manufactured artifact, not only inspires, but educates, thrills, and defines the existence of God’s creative abilities, to convey thoughts into visual communication applications that impact people’s thinking and emotions. As strange as this may seem, we each possess the same creative capabilities.
Take for instance; Genesis 3:5 in the American Bible Society, 1982 edition, King James version, conveys: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Clearly one of the most enthralling ingredients God implanted within all things living is the voice of communication and the ability to think and rationalize. In fact, Proverbs 4:5 encourages us to get wisdom and understanding and forget it not. This scripture continues “wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding” (American Bible Society, 1982, p.543).
Yet today countless people willingly neglect to adhere to the instruction of this book, because they refuse to trust in the teaching of the Bible. So, how can we as Christians reach out and impact the lives of those who refuse to seek understanding in the pages of enlightenment? The answer: “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and knowledge of the Holy is understanding” (American Bible Society, 1982, p.547). In understanding that we are not God, but merely fragments of God’s existence, we become capable of relinquishing our ignorance concerning God and man’s religion.
In fact, another intricate piece to the puzzle of understanding is Proverbs 12:1, which instructs: “Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge, but he that hate it is brutish” (American Bible Society, 1982, p.549). Time and again, we see those who have turned away from getting understanding and witness their self inflicted condemnation eating away at their souls, because they have disconnected themselves from God.
To me, being without God would be like living with no air; it’s unfathomable. After all, the spirit of God dwells within each of us, and continues to transcend from a time in history, no human could ever comprehend. So, why do we debate if there is a God or not? After all, who gave man the power of voice and language? Better yet, who gave man the ability to draw visual art that speaks universal love? These examples may seem minor to you, yet they are important factors to the realization of God, because they provide key evidence of the existence.
It’s funny, but when I hear people say there is no God, I cannot help thinking about my tangerine dove: Dexter. Holding this fragile bird in the palm of my hand, listening to him coo with the sound of music; then to watch him land on the floor and walk around searching and bobbing his head, is enough proof to me that some type of divine God exist. After all, man can not birth doves. That being said, I believe its time Christians go beyond their perimeter of comfort and begin soaring towards the galaxy of wisdom and understanding. I mean, even Google has found a way to emulate the almighty, with its endless supply of resourceful data filed in its search engine.
Unfortunately, no human will ever be able to read all of the data woven into cyberspace technology. This is why the scripture teaches us to get knowledge and with knowledge to get understanding. After all, God created all things for our learning; therefore, who else do you turn to for understanding: God.
Faith is the elixir that thrust our hearts and minds into a funnel of combustion that often leads to a lack of knowing. Therefore, study and read extensively; in doing so, you gain wisdom and a better understanding.
