you whom I took from the ends of the earth,
and called from its farthest corners,
saying to you, “You are my servant,
I have chosen you and not cast you off”;
fear not, for I am with you;
be not dismayed, for I am your God;
I will strengthen you, I will help you,
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:9-10 ESV)
God loves you! He loves you very much.
Sometimes, His love can be hard to fathom. Like for myself, I have been wondering quite a number of times, “Can I be forgiven? How can God love me?” Perhaps, guilt from a past sin has been cultivating these thoughts in your head. I know it had been that situation for me.
For me, life became a huge downward slope, where I was constantly brooding over my sins and the only time when I did not think of those sins was when I was sleeping. Guilt and fear indeed cripples you. For a while it made me doubt that God even loved me, let alone would save me.
But know this, God will never ever give up on you, no matter how badly you have sinned. One night I was praying over my life and asking God if He could ever love me for what I was. He then reminded me that guilt and fear was from the devil and the devil only. But He is and always will be my source of strength and hope. The best part was that God’s power is always stronger. His hope will always drive away the guilt and other negative emotions and give immense peace, no matter what I have done in my life.
Whenever these emotions take hold of you, always remember that God has paid a very high price for you, and you are extremely special and valuable to Him.
