Now I wonder
Yes I do
What I’m supposed to see in you?
Must be thankful
You bet I am
Still I’m crying
“Why?! God damn!”
Truth be told
I still believe
You have the power to relieve
But when I step
Into your home
I see you sitting at your throne
At times it’s made me more alone
Being lost inside that chilling tone
You cut my soul and shake my bones
Then leave me to the dark unknowns
I hope I feel that peace again
From day to day I wonder when…
But if you keep my loved ones safe
You can bet - I’ll keep my faith
Do me just this one favor
Be my hero
Their savior
That’s the proof we’re dying for
A sign of something, something sure
Existence of a spirit-pure
To give us hope for the future
