One thing we are guaranteed of in life is change. We will all experience it in life! Sometimes it comes suddenly. It can be very painful and almost overwhelming to our spirit.
We unexpectedly lose our job. Our best friend dies. The greatest love of our life has just fallen in love with another.
How do we get through it?
Painfully!
After we have experienced the emotions of a broken heart, cried our eyes out, banged our fists against the wall or hurled epitaphs against the cruelty of fate, we must find the strength to release it and let go.
We must stop resisting. Stop trying to make it something it cannot be. Stop blaming ourselves with all of our "woulda, coulda, shoulda" thoughts. Instead, realize that everything is in Divine Order and happening as it should. Try to let go and let our higher power take control.
Remember, as the Bible says, his ways are not our ways. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. Yours will too!
When we are going through a time of great transition, it is difficult to let go because we don't know what is going to happen next. Perhaps we were comfortable with what was, even though it may not have made us happy.
This is when our big test comes, for we must truly walk by faith and not by sight. It hurts a lot and we may feel afraid of what the future holds. But, we've still got to let go.
No matter how fearful we may be, or how much we are hurting right now, we must walk on, knowing that another door will open for us and it will be even better than the one we have just closed.
Time is a great healer, and so with a grateful and forgiving heart, now is the time. It is a time of transition. It is a time to trust that the Universe is on your side. It is time to believe that "this too shall pass." It is a time to . . .
"Let go and let God.”
Right now, I am going through a transition in my life. It hurts a lot and, yes, I feel fearful of what's ahead too. However, I'm glad I wrote this article today. It lightened the load that I am carrying and lifted my spirit.
Now, all I have to do is take my own advice and surrender. Yes, I think I will. It's time for me to just "Let go and let God."
How about you?
