The Strings Of The Harp
Monday, October 2, 2017
Ephesians 5:19 speaks of singing and making melody with your heart to the Lord. The word melody in Greek is psallo, which means to pluck as a harp. Your heart is like a harp made to make holy music, if it’s played right. You might look in your life and heart and see things that don’t look beautiful; ups, downs, highs, lows, hopes, disappointments, joys, tears, love, and rejection all mixed together. A harp doesn’t have just one string, but many. It has both high strings and low strings. The highs give it brightness and brilliance and the lows give it deeper and fuller sounds. There’s a great beauty waiting to come out from your life and heart, from the highs and equally from the lows. The key is to let God’s Spirit touch all the strings of your heart and make it beautiful. Let Him touch your high strings– your joys– and your low strings– your sorrows and your hardships . Whatever it is, bring it to the Lord, because only the heart that’s touched by the Spirit can make heavenly music to God.
