Isaiah 9:6 calls Messiah Sar Shalom, the Prince or Ruler of Peace, but shalom means more than peace. It means completion, fulfillment, well being, wholeness, and prosperity. It also means hello and goodbye. Sar Shalom could also be interpreted as The Goodbye Prince. Messiah came first to make an end of what is old. He gives us the power to say goodbye to our sins and the old life. When Messiah said, “Follow me”, the first thing they had to do was say shalom to their old way of life. Only then could they be free to receive the blessings of shalom in the Prince of Shalom. The first call He gives to all His disciples is to say shalom to the old. If you want the blessings of shalom, completeness, wholeness, prosperity, well being, peace, and fulfillment in your life, you have to say goodbye to the old way of thinking and being. Bid it shalom. He’s the Prince of Shalom. He’ll give you the power to say goodbye. In the Goodbye Prince, you’ll find peace and all the blessings of shalom, because shalom begins when you say goodbye.
