The basis of Eastern and New Age religion is that ultimately everything and anything is God - pantheism. When people in the Lord put “Thus sayeth the Lord”, “The Lord told me”, or “The Lord spoke to me” in front of everything they say, they run the risk of sliding unknowingly into that same pantheism. When everything is the voice of God then there’s no voice of God. It’s very easy to say “God told me this” or “God promised me that”. It’s easy to attach God’s name to your desires, hopes, and dreams, and there’s nothing spiritual about it. In fact, it’s taking the name of the Lord in vain. When you mistake your own voice for the voice of God, you’ll stop hearing the real voice of God. God is Holy. His Voice is Holy. We have to be still and listen to it. We have to be rooted and grounded in the sure Word of God as found in the Scriptures. Be rooted, grounded, and strong in His Word. For thus sayeth the Lord, “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My Words will never pass away.”
