I lift my hands to You on this new day that You have given to me...
Since prayer is at the bottom of all this,
what I want most is for men to pray—
not shaking angry fists at enemies
but raising holy hands to God.
And I want women to get in there with the men
in humility before God...
Holy God, I want to praise You with my whole life.
As Christmas fast approaches and the beginning of the New Year comes ever closer, I look back and reflect on this year.
I do not look back to focus in on the pain and the suffering, but as a testament to Your grace, mercy, and glory.
Through the trials, You have remained by my side.
I am reminded of the passage in the book of Matthew where the three wise men set out to find baby Jesus, born King of the Jews...
they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy.
I too rejoice exceedingly with great joy as I worship Jesus this Christmas.
When I look back on this year, please help me to see where Your presence has intervened in my pain and in my joy.
Please fill my heart and my mind with Your presence so that when I look back on this year, my response is to rejoice in who You are and all that You have done.
