If you catch a migrating bird during the season of bird migration and put it in a cage, it will beat its breast against the bars of the cage and pace back and forth. But if you wait for the season of migration to end, you can open up the cage and it’s very likely that the bird won’t fly out. In fact, even if you toss some of these birds into the air, they won’t fly but will land limply on the ground. The call to migrate, the pull in its heart, is gone. So too with us. Throughout our lives, the Spirit of God pulls on our hearts, at different times and in different ways, to repent, to rise to our call, to get it together, to do what we know He’s calling us to do. But the call of God comes in its season, and if you resist the call, your heart may lose the ability even to hear it. When the Spirit moves on your heart, when you’re convicted to act, don’t wait and don’t put it off until tomorrow. For your season to fly is now.
From Message #716 - Today If You Hear
TODAY'S MISSION - Today, when the Spirit moves on your heart and you’re convicted to act, don’t wait and don’t put it off until tomorrow – do it now.
