The Hand Through The Fire

Once when I was planning a mission trip to China, I went home after a service and laid down to nap. I dreamed I saw a Bible burning in someone’s hand. When I woke up, I saw a fax that had just come in. The fax was about believers in China and how the communist authorities would burn Bibles. It told the story of a burning Bible and how one believer had stuck his hand into the fire and was able to rescue one page. For years that one page was all they had. It was their greatest treasure. They cherished the Word of God so much that they would stick their hand in the fire to save one page. And then, having that page, they treasured it for years. We don’t have to stick our hands through fire to have or read the Word of God - and we don’t have just one page – we have over a thousand. Yet do we truly treasure His Word as we should? How much more should we value the treasure we have, cherish it, sacrifice for it, and, more than anything – live it?
From Message #1439 - The Elijah Generation
Today open up the Bible, take just one Scripture, one Word, and hold to it, meditate on it, let it soak in, apply it, and live it.
