Is this not the carpenter, the Son of Mary,
and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon?
And are not His sisters here with us?
Jesus is the Son of Mary, born as a human baby; yet Mary was a virgin. Jesus was born sinless, without a sin nature. He lived His entire life without sin (2 Corinthians 5:21), so He could be the unblemished, Lamb of God for the sins of the world. Jesus, the Son of Mary, came to His own people—the Israelites—but they did not receive Him (John 1:11). Even some members of His family were blinded to who He was (John 7:5). When Jesus preached to the people of His hometown Nazareth, “they were offended at Him” (Mark 6:3). What is your response to Jesus? Will you be His disciple; will you live for Him?
Jesus, I believe You were 100 percent human, born of Mary; and You are 100 percent, God. Thank You for becoming human so You could understand me. I worship You, and I will follow Your example and strive to live a godly life.
Jesus, the Son of Mary, grew as a child and had favor with God and man (Luke 2:52) Mary taught Him lessons that a mother teaches her child. Now He wants you to grow to please God as He did. “And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom; and the grace of God was upon Him” (Luke 2:40).
Jesus, I want You to live in my heart (Galatians 2:20), to strengthen me, so I can please the Father. Amen.
The human Jesus is your example of how to live.
