of Him who sent Me while it is day;
the night is coming when no one can work.
Jesus is the Sent One. Jesus was sent by the Father from Heaven to Earth for several reasons. First, Jesus was the Sent One from the Father to reveal to people what God was like. “No one has seen God at any time. . . . [Jesus] has declared Him” (John 1:18). Will you learn about Jesus to know God? Jesus was the Sent One to let us know what Heaven was like (John 14:1-3). Will you learn what Jesus said about your future home? Jesus was the Sent One to demonstrate God’s love to the world (John 3:16). Will you accept the love of God in Christ? Jesus was the Sent One to redeem the world. “But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son . . . to redeem those who were under the law” (Galatians 4:4-5). Will you receive the redemption Jesus offers?
Lord Jesus, I know You were sent into the world to tell us about the Father. I worship the Father for sending You, and I worship You for obeying His instructions.
Jesus is the Sent One; He obeyed the Father’s directions. In the same way, Jesus is sending you into the world to tell people the gospel. Will you obey? Just as Jesus was sent as a true witness, will you be a witness for Him?
Lord Jesus, send me into the world, just as the Father sent You. I will go to my friends and family to “tell them what great things the Lord has done for [me]” (Mark 5:19). Amen.
Just as Jesus was sent into the world, He now sends you.
