  • Washington's Non-Fighting Army
    Thursday, October 8, 2020
George Washington had an army of people who didn't know what they were doing, making America's birth unlikely. With little provisions, they were a ragtag army fighting the most formidable military force in the world, the British. Washington's main strategy was keeping his army from fighting by running away. The British general ended up trapped by the sea, surrendering at Yorktown. America won the war by an unlikely army of ragtag soldiers who spent time running away until everything turned around. That's the way God works. The Bible's filled with people who would appear to be losers. Yet those lives and walks are turned around for victory. He has chosen the weak things to confound the strong. Perhaps you feel like a failure, struggling with something for years, a sin, situation, compromised walk, and maybe losing battle after battle. God loves even turning that around -- a weak walk around for victory. Don't look at your record or the past; it doesn't mean anything to God! Look to Him and you'll be like Gideon. Trust in His power and the Lord will turn it around. He delights in turning failure into victory, making the weak become strong.
