Jesus: Bread
And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." John 6:35
Jesus is the Bread who gives eternal life to those who believe in Him; you must believe in Him to get it. He is satisfying Bread who gives inner happiness; you must enjoy Him to get it. He is also strength-giving Bread to build you up and give you energy to serve God; you must learn of Him to get it. Jesus is resurrection Bread who gives you life now and life in the future. “Whoever eats My flesh . . . I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:54). So, eat the Bread of Jesus; it will give you confidence, and in the future, you’ll rise in the Resurrection. When you eat of Jesus, you’ll find strength through your personal relationship with Him.
Lord, I’m weak; I need Bread to give me strength for today. Lord, when I get my eyes off You, I hunger for the things of this life. My unfilled desire makes me miserable. Teach me to eat the Bread of life so that I can experience spiritual satisfaction of the soul.
Jesus is supernatural Bread. Those who eat the Bread of Jesus are strengthened to run, work and wrestle (Philippians 4:13). When you eat the Bread of Jesus, you have new purpose in your life to overcome obstacles and limitations. When you eat the Bread of Jesus, you have a supernatural life, because He will live in you and you’ll live in Him. Are you hungry for Him today?
Bread of life, I am hungry; fill me. I am weak; strengthen me. Come fulfill Your life through me. Amen.
Jesus is Bread to give you life.
