Jesus: A Man Approved by God
Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know. Acts 2:22
Jesus was a Man Approved by God. He was born of a virgin without a sin nature. He lived a perfect life without committing sin (1 Peter 2:22). But that doesn’t mean He didn’t have difficulties; He was tempted in all points as you are (Hebrews 4:15), yet He didn’t give in to temptation. Just as a sacrificial lamb had to be perfect to offer for sin, so Jesus lived a perfect life so that He could be a substitute for your sin. As the perfect Man, Jesus was approved by God to take your punishment and guilt.
Lord Jesus, I know that You became flesh for me. Thank You for Your human perfection. I worship You and cry out with other worshipers, “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power” (Revelation 4:11).
Yes, I say, “Worthy is the Lamb” (Revelation 5:12).
Jesus was a Man Approved by God. Because God loved the world so much, He sent Jesus to redeem all people. Because Jesus is both the eternal God and the Perfect Man, He qualified to be the Sin Bearer for all. Because He died, was buried, and on the third day arose from the dead, the Father attested to His work and accepted all who believed in Him (John 20:31).
Lord Jesus, I bow before You, thanking You for salvation. You were the only One who could have redeemed the sinful race. You are the One who redeemed me. Amen.
The Father approved the human life of Jesus.
