You are my loving and forgiving Father in Heaven.
Thank You for giving me Your unconditional love that...
…always protects, always trusts,
always hopes, always perseveres.
Today my prayer is for people who have wandered away from You, as described in the parables that Jesus told about the lost sheep, the lost coin and the lost Son in Luke 15.
Whether for reasons of anger, fear, selfish ambition or doubt—I pray that their eyes will be opened to Your love, acceptance and forgiveness and that they will turn back to You.
I ask that You would give me the strength to overcome the temptations in my life that pull me away from You.
Let us all hear Your "welcome home" through these powerful words spoken by Jesus about the return of the prodigal to his father, as a promise of what our Heavenly Father will say to us as we return to You...
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet. And bring the fatted calf here and kill it, and let us eat and be merry; for this my son was dead and is alive again; he was lost and is found.’ And they began to be merry."
Lord, thank You for Your love, mercy and grace, please let them wash over me today.
